New Version of the Psalms with Music

Facsimile of “A supplement to the new version of Psalms by Dr Brady and Mr Tate; containing the Psalms… Hymns, &c., and Tunes (treble and bass), proper to each of them…” Printed in 1708. Used widely in churches during the 18th Century, it contains about 60 tunes set to Tate and Brady's Psalms together with tunes for the Magnificat, Nunc Dimittis, Ten Commandments, etc, and a few hymns. Bound in the back are copies of a few pages of contemporary manuscript tunes which appeared in the copy from which the facsimile was made. The 15 page introduction gives a complete lesson (18th Century style) in how to read and sing music. It is reproduced to the exact size 5x2.5 inches. 184pp. Hand printed on cream laid paper and bound in best library cloth, with gilt title to spine, and coloured head and tail bands. Copies are hand produced to order so please allow up to a month for delivery.
