A Kent Psalmody Manuscript (c1830s)
 |
96 pages of music in three, four and five part harmony, preceded by 2 index pages. A new Commentary & Reference Tables have been added and all pages are printable.
There are 129 pieces of music, the vast majority being psalm tunes, with a few hymns, an anthem, a setting of the responses and a "Gospel chant". Several items cannot be traced to surviving published collections, and may be unique to this manuscript. The inclusion of responses and presence of instrumental "symphonies" in some of the pieces, suggest that it was compiled by the "quire" or gallery band of a town church or chapel, perhaps in Canterbury.
UK Price: £9.00 (including postage & packing). Outside UK: £10.00
